Remuneration and other benefits

SIB will pay a competitive salary, currently under review.

In addition, the benefits package includes:

  • A defined contribution pension with 10% employer’s contribution
  • 25 days annual leave plus 12 statutory days (pro rata)
  • Life assurance cover.

Tenure

This is a permanent role.

Terms of offer

Confirmation of appointment will be subject to satisfactory completion of security vetting and reference enquiries and completion of a probation period of 12 months.

Primary work location, travel requirements and hours of work

The position will be based primarily in SIB’s head office in the Kelvin Building, Belfast. The CEO will be expected to have frequent meetings with key stakeholders within and outside Northern Ireland.  The post will require some evening and weekend work to attend events and activities taking place both within and outside Northern Ireland. 

The post-holder will therefore require access to a form of transport to carry out the duties of the position. SIB encourages flexible working, and there is scope for hybrid working. Regular contact by phone, email and MS Teams/Zoom is required on home working days.

This is a full time role.

Reserve list

Reserve candidates may be maintained for a period of up to twelve months if suitable additional, analogous roles become available, including full-time or part-time positions.

Conflicts of Interest

If any candidate or their partner has any actual or potential conflict of interest with the activities of SIB or any other associated bodies, this should be declared clearly in the application or immediately should it arise post-appointment.

Any indirect association of this kind through any other family member or partnership should also be disclosed.

Candidates must disclose if there are any issues which would prevent them from being considered as appropriate for Accounting Officer designation – for example bankruptcy, disqualification etc. Please note that such issues may prevent a candidate from being considered suitable for appointment as Chief Executive / Accounting Officer.

  • a UK or Irish national, or
